The Cultural Justice Project is a multimedia anthology that highlights and preserves arts/cultural works by diverse inter-generational communities in the Greater Philadelphia region, through archival and oral history techniques.

Philly Rumba is a short documentary about a group of African American men in Philadelphia who gravitated toward Cuban Rumba as an expression of their African roots during the Civil Rights and Pan African Eras. 50 years later, they continue to play Rumba together, proving that music can create community and solidarity in difficult times.

La Lucha Sigue (The Fight Continues) is a short animated documentary that centers three immigrant rights leaders who work to shut down the Berks Detention Center in Pennsylvania, one of three prisons nationwide that had detained immigrant children and families.

The actívate civic arts & media project publishes and distributes multimedia journalism and research through a critical communication lens. We focus on social justice, arts/culture, community media, social policy, democracy, and technology.

The “Untitled Equitable Budgeting” project is a short documentary and digital resource library that demystifies Philadelphia’s budget process and inspires everyday working people in Philadelphia and the metropolitan region to engage in civic life through art and creativity.
