Bok Open Studios is here!

Come sip, shop, meet the Bok community and explore our creative studios on Friday, October 9th from 5pm-9pm! See you there!

Open Studios happens twice a year, where all 9 floors of the Bok building open for visitors to explore our hallways and meet our community! This free, family-friendly event welcomes you into the building’s inspiring spaces, home to fine artists, glass blowers, ceramicists, bakers, jewelers, guitar makers, designers, photographers, and more. Special activations include food vendors, community partners in the hallways, and pop-up art and music throughout the building. Plan to make a night of it by having a beverage on the roof at Bok Bar or grabbing dinner at Irwin’s.

Crew, friends, family, supporters, please join us in celebrating the release of three incredible films at this year’s 15th BlackStar Film Festival: West Side Familia, Philly Rumba, and The Seeds We Carry.

Music by the Philly-based jazzy funky Philly-soul band Omar’s Hat, with a featured performance by a quartet of rumba drummers presented by Timbalona.

Pop-Up Budget Interviews

In partnership with the People’s Budget Office at LOVE Park

Co-create a History of Philly’s Budget Activism

Budget advocacy and organizing is a key part of the budget process. Join seasoned advocates including Erme Maula from Friends of the Free Library, Nikki Grant from Treatment not Trauma, and Kimmy Cook from the Alliance for a Just Philadelphia, alongside moderator Sam Rise to hear about past budget wins and how we can organize for the future.
